Some good news!

We got the results of Jays stool samples back (I'm sure he'd be thrilled if he knew I was talking about his poop LOL). Anyhow, they came back totally normal, so that means that his low hemoglobin is NOT due to internal bleeding. YEA!!!


However, we still need to find out exactly WHY it's low then. A good reason could be Celiac Disease, which is the next thing we will test.

Another symptom Jay has is an itchy rash on his elbow. He keeps trying to say it's getting better and not itching anymore. However, I woke up 2-3 times just last night and saw him scratching it in his sleep, so I am not believing him. I think he's hoping by saying that, that it'll be true.

He has an appt set up for 12/26 at a Dermotologist in Ames to biopsy the rash and test for HD, which is a rash that can only be caused by CD. If that shows negative, then he'll get set up for a scope down his throat and into his intestines where they biopsy a tiny amount to test for CD. That's the way his dad and other relatives have gotten positive results. All had false negatives when doing blood tests, so I told the doctor I didn't want to even waste the time doing one.
