I'm so bad!

Ok, I know I'm not catholic, but I really do have a confession I have to get off my chest.

Father forgive me for I have sinned....... (I think that's how it starts, doesn't it?)

Ashley & Chelsea informed me last night that they need pictures for the senior video by next week. I also have to have the pictures needed for their graduation announcements by next week as well. So much to do, and very little time to do it in, and the weather hasn't been cooperating at all.

So, today I head to Walgreens to get copies made of the pictures the girls will give them to use for the video. They say to write your name on the back of the pictures you turn in for the video and announcements and you'll get them back, but just to be safe, I wanted to make copies.

I scan all the pictures necessary, including A & C's kindergarten photos and the one of the 2 of them together in their little carhart overalls. When I go back to pick them all up, they inform me that they can't make copies of those 3 pictures because of copyright issues. In order to get copies of the school pictures, we have to contact Lifetouch since that's who does them. I said "Well, what about the other one?" She said it's professional also so you'll have to get permission from the photographer."

I panicked. My heart pounded in my ears. I don't have time to do all this! My daughters waited until the last minute and I have to have those pictures NOW. So, I knew what I had to do. I had to lie...and lie big time!

- your gonna love this one.....

I looked right at the Walgreens lady and without missing a beat or blinking an eye I said "My uncle was the photographer and he died a few years ago, so I can't exactly contact him."

I think a bead of sweat ran down my forehead, I'm not sure. It seemed like an eternity before she responded, but then she said "Ok, well then we just need you to sign this form." I signed the form without hesitation and she printed the pictures for me. As I drove home I started to think about what I had done. Not the lying part, but holy crap I signed my name on a document! I put an "X" in the box marked "Other" as to why I couldn't contact the photographer. ACK! What if I get caught? Will I go to jail?

Can't you see ME in jail. Oh yea, that would not be pretty! "So, what are ya in for?" "Lying about having a dead uncle." Yep, I'd be someone's girlfriend in no time!

So, I came home and apologized to God for what I had done. I have to believe that he understands my predicament and forgives me. I also believe he will forgive me when I take the kindergarten pictures over to Jay's Aunts house to scan and print out. Hey...a mom's gotta do, what a mom's gotta do!
