Last night Ashley & Chelsea had their "Finale" for their High School dance career. The "Night of Dance" showcased all of the dances the team has done throughout the year, plus they also learned a couple of new routines as well. They also held a clinic all day for girls in grades Kindergarten through high school and each of those grades learned a dance that they performed at the showcase as well.
The highlight of the night for me (and also the dance that caused the most tears) was the Father-Daughter Dance. They started out dancing to "My Girl" which was a song I used to sing all the time to the girls when they were babies, so that had me choked up right off the bat.
At one point during the dance the fathers were to do a slow spin of their daughters. The coach couldn't figure out how to have Jay spin both of his, so she switched it up and the girls spin him. The crowd loved it! LOL
They did a little twistin'...."Come On Baby, Let's Do The Twist"
And then they danced to the hit by MC Hammer "You Can't Touch This" and every time the words "you can't touch this" came up, the dads pointed to their daughter(s). Too cute! LOL
They then had fun doing a section from Cotton Eyed Joe and rotated in a giant circle.
And then they ended up back again at "My Girl" to finish out the song. It ended with the Fathers & Daughters in a hug. So sweet, sentimental, and very emotional!! I loved it!
I of course took a thousand pictures (ok maybe not really that many, but it was probably close LOL) through the entire evening and sometime I'll get those up on Shutterfly for you all to see.
