Retail Therapy

Ok, so I did not get a nap in today like I had hoped. But, I got the next best thing, which also happens to be my other favorite hobby....retail therapy.

Today wasn't one of those ordinary "I have a bazillion errands to run" kind of shopping days either. I did have several stops to make, but what made it a great day is that it was one of those days when everything just went great. No surprises, no delays, no back-orders, no being out of what I wanted/needed. Just walk in, find what I needed and done. So cool!

So my first stop was at our church. Austin meets with the Deacons tonight and a note was sent home a couple of weeks ago that an enclosed information sheet was to be filled out and returned to the church, along with each Confirmand's Statement of Faith that he/she wrote, and those are due to the church by when? April 22nd? CRAP! That's today! So, first stop was to the church to turn those things in. Thank goodness Austin's a good kid and had them done.

Then I headed off to Subway. I talked with the manager regarding ordering the sandwich platter that Austin wants to have for his Confirmation lunch and also ordered the cookie platter too. I ordered a wrap while I was there, so my lunch for today was taken care of as well....bonus!

I then headed to the flooring shop to select the carpet we are going to have in the new room. I found what I liked and the guy headed to our place to measure the room so they will install it as soon as is possible. I was so excited I nearly peed....seriously! Sorry, mom, I know that probably grosses you out to read that, but honest...I nearly did. LOL

I was on a shopping "high" and headed to Sams Club. I went into purchase the individual bags of chips that we wanted to go with the subway sandwiches, and I also got the drinks. I grabbed a gallon drum of advil while there...not that I'm thinking I'm going to need it in the coming weeks or anything. I also grabbed the mega sized bottles of ketchup, BBQ sauce and mustard that we'll need for the girls graduation party. I decided to make a quick trip through the outdoor lawn ornaments to see if there was anything there that was just so cute that I knew I wouldn't be able to live without it and as I rounded the corner - there . it . was - the bistro set I've been wanting. I've been looking everywhere for one like I coveted at one of Jays relatives house. It's nothing fancy. Just a simple little wrought iron bistro table with chairs, but everywhere I looked they were outrageously priced. This set was perfect. So perfect there was a glow around it. Ok, not really, but I do think I heard angels singing softly...or at least humming. It was less than 1/2 the price I've seen elsewhere. I was so happy I was giddy!

Being to the point of nearly peeing, and being giddy all in one day definitely makes it a good day!

So I had someone help me load it in my vue. I have to admit I was a little nervous as to if it would fit, so on the way out I said a quick, simple prayer: "Please God, I really really really really want this set. If you want me to have it, then please let it fit in my vehicle. Amen." We managed to get it to fit, so of course I let Jay know later that I just HAD to buy that set and I even had a sign from God that he wanted me to have it too. Well, he kinda did. Blushy 2

I left there and headed to Wal-Mart and found the red spray paint I needed for an item I've been wanting to paint, and I grabbed some round-up to spray the weeds at home.

Then, my last stop was at the Kum & Go because I had worked up quite a thirst. I found they had 32 oz drinks on sale for the 24 oz price. SCORE!

Man oh man....that topped it off perfectly. What a great day. You just gotta love retail therapy.

<----And then look at what I found. Wowsers! It really IS a great day! LOL
