Graduation

Well, we made it, the girls graduated and we all survived to tell about it. LOL
Happy Graduation

I don't know that it could have been a more perfect day (a special thanks to Aunt Marian who has "connections" and promised it would be a sunny day).

Last minute preparations were completed, showers taken and we were off to the school. I did ok until the Pomp & Circumstances song began and then when I saw my girls walking in, I couldn't hold back the tears.

The main speaker was the President of the school board, who also happens to be the dad of a girl who has been a good friend of my girls since preschool. So all the memories he talked about while choking back tears, were things I remembered, so that brought tears to my eyes as well.

I did learn something yesterday...it is VERY hard to get a good picture of your child(ren) walking across the stage to receive their diploma when you have tears of pride running down your face. I did manage to get a couple of good ones though:

Ashley

Chelsea

This was taken outside the school after the ceremony

We had fun seeing everyone that came to their party, but we all felt sad that we didn't get more time with each one that came.

Today it's all about cleaning up. I had a terrible time sleeping and was up cleaning by 5am. It gave me time alone with my thoughts. Time to reminisce, time to look at all the pictures they had up, which gave me time to smile, time to laugh, and time to cry. It was time I needed and now I'm ready to help them get ready for the next chapter in their lives. I just hope these next couple of months don't go as fast as the previous few months have.

I'll end this post with the lyrics to their class song by Green Day. The song is called "Time Of Your Life".

Time Of Your Life
Another turning point;a fork stuck in the road.
Time grabs you by the wrist;directs you where to go.
So make the best of this testand don't ask why.
It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time.

It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

So take the photographs and still frames in your mind.
Hang it on a shelf In good health and good time.
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial.
For what it's worth,it was worth all the while.

It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

To our daughters we say "over the past 18 yrs, we hope you had the time of your lives".
