We've had a situation that started before Graduation, but has gotten significantly worse since Graduation. Molly has been peeing in the house...often...and a lot. No matter how often she goes out, she still goes in the house.
Thing were crazy when this first started, which was right about Confirmation time, so to be honest, it got put on the back-burner. But since this past weekend, I couldn't take it anymore. Just this morning alone she had 4 accidents and had been outside several times.
I talked to the vet today around lunchtime about Mollys symptoms and she said to bring a urine sample down. She also said to bring Molly along because that way they could do an x-ray if needed.
They tested her urine and the vet came out and said "Mollys PH is high. We need to xray her." Those words stabbed me in the heart, because those are the exact same words we heard over and over with Nikki each time she had bladder stones, including the last time when we had to make the horrible decision to have her put down. I said "Dr. Tami, I can't go through this again. Please!" She said it didn't guarantee it was stones, it could just be an infection, which is why they were going to xray her.
I was so scared waiting to hear the outcome. The vet came out and said "It's a bad infection. No stones." I cried right then and there. She said that she normally is the one who only gets to relay bad news to parents and she wanted to give me the good news herself since she knew how hard it was for us to go through that with Nikki. I could have kissed her. LOL
So, Molly's on a strong antibiotic for 10 days and then we recheck her urine. Dr. Tami is sure this is why she's peeing all over the house.
Oh, and I also talked to her about Gabbys recent obsession with licking Mollys eyes and bridge of her nose. She said that dogs can tell if something is wrong with another dog and that can be a sign of trying to comfort her or trying to make her feel better. I was like "omg that is so sweet." Sure enough, as soon as we got home Gabby ran right over and started licking. :)
