Language Barriers

The language barrier between Anna & us continues to provide much entertainment in our house. She really is a great girl and she has a wonderful sense of humor, which is a good thing living in this house.

Yesterday morning had us laughing so hard, we were all almost in tears! Ashley & Chelsea belong to a local saddle club. They have shows and trail rides throughout the year. Yesterday there was a trail ride that usually lasts 3-4 hrs, and since it's not a rough ride (lots of hills or rough terrain) they thought Anna would enjoy it. Since they leave at 11am and don't return until after 4pm, people usually bring their lunch to eat along the ride so we went to Subway to get sandwiches for them.

While driving there, Chelsea was on the phone with one of her friends and her friend was picking on her, so Chelsea said "Stop it you little turd". When she got off the phone, Anna asked "What is a turd?" Which started the giggles. Chelsea said "Its the same as poop. Do you know what poop is?" Anna shook her head No. Chelsea and I are laughing at this point and I said "Go ahead Chelsea, explain it to her". LOL Chelsea was turning read and giggling and you could see the wheels turning as she tried to figure out how to explain this.

"Ok. You know how you have #1 and #2. Well, it's #2". Anna said "So you don't say the number two? You say number poop?" ROTFL I nearly spit out my water when she said that! Chelsea was laughing too and said "Noooooooooo. No number poop". So Chelsea thought for a moment and this is when I nearly drove off the road from laughing so hard:

Chelsea "Ok. You know how water comes out here (pointing between her legs)?"
Anna: "You mean orina?"
Chelsea "Yea, sure. whatever that means"
Anna: "ummm, urine?"
Chelsea: "Ok. We'll go with that. Orina is #1"
Anna: (laughing) "Ok"
Chelsea "You know how something comes from here (pointing to her butt) and it's brown and hard and goes plop plop in the water?"
Anna (laughing very very hard!) "Yes. That is #2?"
Chelsea: "YES! See, I knew you'd get it!"
Belly Laugh
Several times during the day, Anna would point at her butt and say "#2 plop plop" and laugh so hard! LOL I really am thrilled she has a sense of humor...unless she just thinks we're all nuts!
