I'm A Grandma?

When Ashley came home from college last weekend, she proudly announced "Guess what? You're a Grandma!"

I honestly think my heart skipped a few beats and I remember saying "the room is spinning, the room is spinning. Someone call 911!"

Thankfully this is what she was talking about:

I'd like you to meet the twins: "Cy" & "Clone". Combined they make up the name Cyclone, which is the name of the mascot for Iowa State University, our family's fav college team

*Shout out to the 'clones h-e-e-e-e-y* Raise The Roof 2

These are Ashley's beta fish. She and her roommate at college were missing their pets at home, so they decided to each get a couple of fish to take care of. My "grand-fish" came home with her for the Christmas break.

I haven't gotten to hold them or give them hugs and kisses and bake them cookies like I could for grand-babies, but I have gotten to feed them. With Ashley recovering from her wisdom teeth surgery, she gave me the instructions on how to do that.

4 tiny pellets twice a day ~ check!

But, since they aren't MY babies, I don't have to do diapers...or in their case, clean the tank. That's the fun of being a "grandma" right?

Oh, and for the record, do you know how hard it is to get a decent picture of 2 fish at the same time? Either one would face backwards or one would be raising up.

I was like "Ok guys (or are they girls???) just look at each other. Come on both face sideways. Nooooo, not that way, turn around. Hey you - Cy, or are you Clone? Well, turn this way whoever you are."

It was quite a scene to behold I'm sure. Takes me back to taking 3 little children to Sears and wanting them to hold still for a picture...and almost as exhausting.
