I'm celebrating New Years tonight with some diet coke, a heating pad and some pain pills. I had an over zealous lab in the kennel that was extra excited when it was his turn to go outside. He tore past me and I didn't get out of the way in time and he took my legs right out from under me and I dropped flat on my butt to the concrete. I first thought I just bruised the area a bit, but it keeps getting more and more sore, and now I'm wondering if there isn't more to it. I'm not saying I broke my hip (or broke my butt as Austin keeps referring to it LOL), but maybe bruised the bone or something deeper like that. There is one specific point to the right and down from my tail bone that is extra extra sore. I can only stand or sit for short periods of time without needing a heating pad on it. In digging around in our bathroom closet, I found the basket I keep with leftover antibiotics and other pills that are for "just in case". I happened to find some pain pills for Jay from last Spring and he can't remember why he was prescribed them. I have now started taking them and while they make me really loopy, they do help with the pain some. I have an appt with the Chiropractor for Friday, but may go to the doctor before that just to be sure there isn't something more going on. We'll see how I feel in a couple of days when the doctors office opens.
In the meantime, Ashley & Chelsea are celebrating New Years Eve at MGM studios in Orlando. I received a text message from Ashley today saying it was 85 degrees there. I warned her that if she and her sister come home with a tan, I'm going to putt their skinny little butts in the snow. LOL
We were invited to go to the newly restored Jewell bowling Alley with Jays Aunt & Uncle and their 2 boys tonight for New Years. However, I knew there was no way I could tolerate sitting on the hard chairs all night and there was nooooo way I could bowl, so I took a rain check and stayed home. Jay and Austin are up there right now bowling and I'm sure having a ball!
As for me, I will ring in the New Years in the morning. It's almost 10pm and after I let out the kennel dogs, the pain pill I just took should be well into my system and I will go nitey-night...hopefully long before 11pm.
I hope everyone reading this has a wonderful, safe and healthy New Year!!!
We wish you all the best in 2008!!
