Yesterday I took Ashley & Chelsea to a salon in Ames to get their hair done for their Winter formal dance last night. I'll post pictures later, when I have a little more time. Anyhow, as we were driving home, Ashley said "Why do people say 'Oh my God'? Why that name? I know you can't say something like 'Oh my chair'. That would sound dumb. But why God? Why not some other name from the bible?"
That started what was one of the funniest car trips we've had in a LONG time. Ashley & Chelsea went back and forth saying statements that people usually put Gods name into and they inserted other biblical names. For example:
"Oh my Ruth!"
"For the love of Malachi!"
"Good Bartholomew!"
"What in the name of Joshua are you doing?"
and so on. We were laughing so hard that I had tears in my eyes. I thought I was going to have to pull over because it was getting harder to drive. LOL
What made it even worse was they started changing the names and then the phrases into the spanish language. Oh wow...now THAT had us rolling! LOL
These are the times I'm going to miss the most. The silly spontaneous funny times between us. Those times that really bond you closer together. We have a silly secret that even now, 24 hrs later still brings a smile to our face. Last night when we were taking their pictures in their dresses, Chelsea wasn't smiling very well. I said "Good Jebediah girl, let's see that smile", and she laughed and we got a great picture.
These are the moments I treasure.
