Winterfest 2008

This past Saturday night Ashley & Chelsea had their winterfest dance and they looked so beautiful. I love seeing them all dressed up and I am alway so proud of how elegant and classy they look. Here's some pictures from the day/night:

Here is Ashley's hairstyle. She wanted just a little bit pulled up as you can see from the side shot. She was worried that the curls wouldn't stay in, but there was enough hairspray on it that when she got up the next morning, her hair was still curly. LOL

Chelsea wanted a full updo. You can't see it very well in these shots, but the sides and the back were brought up in a criss-cross pattern...so cute! When she took it out she counted the bobby pins in her hair. She said she had 72 of them. LOL

Here is Ashley & Chelsea in their dresses. These are dresses they borrowed from friends. They had chosen prom dresses that they really loved, but they were more expensive than we'd normally spend. So, they were able to get those dresses with the condition that they would not be getting new dresses for Winterfest. I think they made great choices in these dresses.

Ashley & Chelsea got ready at a friends house with several other girls. It was like a big party! Here is a picture of all the girls who were there. The girl in the front row on the far left is who's house we were at.

They had a great time at the dance and the whole group of girls (with their dates) and some other kids all went to Perkins in Ames for breakfast afterwards and got home around 3am. Ashley struggled the next morning though because she had to be up by 7am to go to Grandview. The college was putting on a "Scholarship day". Kids go and write an essay and have interviews to try to earn different scholarships. She got back just in time to go to the 4-H meeting where she is club President. She was in bed by 9:00 last night. This is just a preliminary test for her. The morning after prom she will have her Grandview dance team try-outs. LOL
