There is a group of us moms who sit together at the games and we cheer along with the cheerleaders. We call ourselves "The Mom Squad" and we have a great time together. We've learned the basic moves to most of the cheers and we do them right along with the cheerleaders and the students in the stands. We have people watching us, laughing at us, pointing at us, and applauding us. We just do it to have a great time. We know we're not the most glamorous, coordinated group of moms in the world, but we could care less. We laugh and dance along and it is so much fun. We even dance along when the band plays.
At one of our latest games one of the moms excitedly says to my good friend Carlene "Did you tell her? Did you tell her?" Carlene says "Ohhhh, no. I forgot!" I said "tell me what?" Carlene informs me that one of our local photographers took some pictures at the previous game and put them on his website. The other mom busts in with "And there area couple of you!" I knew by the way they were giggling that it meant they were probably not flattering pictures of me. So, of course, after the game I run to my computer and go to his site. Sure enough, there I was, in all my glory. There is one of Carlene and I clapping. One of Carlene, a few other moms and I laughing, and one of me...all by my lonesome doing a cheer along with the cheerleaders. We moms ALWAYS do ALL the cheers together. So why during this one cheer does it look like I am the only one doing it? Why did the photographer zoom way in on me? In the photo it shows just Carlene and Me (Chelsea & Clint are visible in the bottom of the photo). For who knows what reason, Carlene isn't cheering like she usually is. So I'm standing there looking like a total dufus because it looks like I'm cheering all by myself! There is a lady on the other side of Carlene and all the other moms are in front of her.
Here's the infamous, unflattering picture. Ugh! From now on I plan to keep watching to see who has a camera pointed my direction!
