She tried out for the all-state choir and was chosen as an alternate. She also was recently selected for the HOIAC (Heart Of Iowa Area Conference) Honor Choir. Last year she was chosen for the HOIAC honor band, but the concert was never held due to a snowstorm. This past Thursday night we headed to Alleman to the North Polk High School for the concert.
What a treat!
They also recognize top art students from the concert and chosen displays are up for all to see. Such talent!
The Honor Band was in one half of the gym and they performed first. WOW! I have to be honest, when going to my kids school concerts, the band portion is my least favorite part, but with all the members of the Honor Band being extremely talented musicians, I really enjoyed it very very much!
After they were done, we turned our attention to the other half of the gym and the Honor Choir. Again, all I can say is WOW! All these beautiful talented voices brought together in one group and what a sound. Very beautiful!
We are really proud of Chelsea and so happy for her that she was able to have this experience, and happy that we were able to share it with her.
This first picture shows the entire Honor Choir.
A close-up. Chelsea is in the center of this picture, 2 rows behind the boy in the red robe.
Another close-up showing them singing. The guest director is the choir director
at Coe College. Chelsea said he was awesome and was great with the kids.
I tortured Chelsea by making her stand there for a picture. LOL
