I'm freaking out

Ok, I'm a little freaked out, so if this post makes no sense, I apologize in advance.

Chelsea has a boy I'll call "Mark" in one of her classes. Earlier this week, Mark trashed the classroom while the teacher was out and dared the classmates to tattle on him, and of course none of them did for fear he would retaliate. This kid is a loner and has a history.

Today Chelsea comes home and said, uh Mom, I thought you'd want to know something that happened at school today. She said while in that one class, the Principal, The Superintendent, The head of the School Board, both of our town cops and the Sheriff came into the class room, grabbed Mark, put him in hand cuffs and led him away. The class was obviously stunned. As word got around here's what has happened....

There is a girl I'll call "Gina" who is friendly towards Mark. This morning, she asked Mark what he did this past weekend and he said he was working on his "hit list" that is in his journal, which he showed to her. She asked what he meant and to paraphrase since I don't know the exact words used "I am going to kill _____ & _____ (two kids he named personally, who happen to be on Austins basketball team) and everbody in my class (the class he is in with Chelsea) and the teacher, and then I'll kill myself because I'm sick of all the shit." The girl tried to remain calm, but as soon as she was away from him she went straight to the Principals office and told him what she heard. Within less than 2 hrs he was arrested. They did a search of his locker and found another copy of his "hit list", which listed people by name...including Chelsea (since she is one of the people in that one class). They found a detailed plan of how he was planning to carry out his killing spree. They also found the upstairs boys bathroom had been trashed and vandalized, with the initials that his supposed "gang" uses to signify their plan.

I will forever be grateful to Gina. I thank God for Gina. She very well may have saved the lives of my daughter and several other children. Even Austin. He has P.E. with the 2 boys mentioned, and if Mark decided to kill them during P.E., something could have happened to Austin too.

This is a freakin' small town for crying out loud. This is not an urban area or an inner city. It's not even a damn suburb. Why is this stuff happening? I don't understand why everyone is so hell bent on just killing people they are mad at...even if that particular person has never done anything to them personally. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

I am assuming this boy is expelled from this school forever, or at least he damn well better be. Will that keep him from ever re-entering the school? Not necessarily. What about this gang he supposedly has. Is there really a group of kids that feels like he does? Have they been identified? Are they going to be allowed to remain in school? I hope not.

Please pray for our school. Please pray for the safety of all the children that go to that school every day. And please pray for Mark and his gang that the hatred may leave their hearts. I would hate to think of the "what ifs" if the hatred remains and festers.
