Morning Exercise

Jay & Chelsea spontaneously got some exercise in this morning. Chelsea's 2 mini horses (Sparkle & Ziggy) somehow got out of their pen and because they haven't been out much yet this Spring, and because they are both still young, they were WOUND UP and ready to go!

As soon as Jay & Chelsea tried to come near them, they took off running around. Since I'm still a city girl at heart, I don't do much with the horses. But, wanting to be a helpful wife and mother I ran outside and asked what I could do to help. By this time the minis were in a full sprint down our gravel road. Jay told me to drive around the section and come back in the opposite way to hopefully cut them off and turn them around. I jumped in the car and as I drove out of our lane, I admit I did laugh. I couldn't help it....those two little horses with their tiny legs moving as fast as they could was just too cute. LOL

I drove around the section and was coming back up the road when I saw that Chelsea had them both in her hands. They had managed to catch them and get their halters on them, although Chelsea said they weren't happy about it.

Chelsea has to keep a record book for 4-H on her horse project, so as they came up the road, I had to snap a few pictures. This first picture was taken last Fall when we brought Ziggy home. Ziggy is the little black mini. He was born just last June. Sparkle was born in July 06.

This picture shows Chelsea walking Sparkle & Ziggy back down the road to home.

Chelsea with Sparkle, walking her back to the barn.

Jay walking Ziggy back to their barn. He kept saying "Come on pokey little puppy" because Ziggy is one horse who is never in a hurry. He likes to stop and smell the roses, and the grass, and whatever that shiny thing is he sees laying nearby, and..... LOL

Back home. But as you can see, they were not happy to be in there. Chelsea put Sparkle inside the barn so she could grab Ziggy to put him in there too. That way she could feed them both, but Sparkle was determined that she was not going to stay in the barn. They're so cute that it's hard to be mad at them, and Chelsea got to laughing so hard she couldn't hardly handle them.

Thankfully, she got them both inside and fed and still made it to school on time. What a way to start the morning. LOL
