Little Amanda

There is a little girl in our church named Amanda. She is two (will be 3 soon) and is just a total ray of sunshine. These two pictures are of her before and after a recent haircut.

I don't believe I have ever seen her unhappy. She is always flashing the most beautiful smile that could light up a room. Her parents and grandparents sit in front of us at church and I love listening to her tiny voice as she talks.

Sadly, Amanda has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of Leukemia known as Acute Myelogenous Leukmia (AML). Treatment will be intense chemotherapy over the next 6-9 months and possible bone marrow transplant. Of the AML types they have been told that she has one of the more difficult to treat.

Her parents have started a site to post updates on her care and treatment and they also have some pictures. Here is the link to the site: http://caringbridge.org/cb/viewHome.do I also will have Amandas picture on the side of this blog. You can click on her picture at any time to be taken to their site.

Please keep Amanda, her parents, grandparents and the rest of the family in your prayers.
