Water, Glorious Water

I mentioned that our water system had died. They called last night and our new machine is in and they will be here later this morning. You have NO idea how excited I am. I am "I think I may need to wear Depends" excited!

It's been insane around here. I can't wash dishes, because even hand washing gets a film on them. I have post-it notes in the dishes, glasses & silverware cabinets saying "Remember, please use paper or plastic for now".

Laundry has not been done in almost 3 weeks. 3 WEEKS people. For a family of 5 do you know how that translates???? ACK! I have a serious Mt. Washmore thing going on around here. We have an oversized tub in one bathroom that we rarely use now that we have a hot tub, and that's become our hamper since our regular hampers were beyond over-flowing. I did get everyone new underwear and socks to help get us through, but have also ran to the laundromat a time or two.

The worst has been showering. I have very sensitive skin. I can always tell when we are out of softener salt, because I will get a rash on my inner forearms and my thighs. If salt isn't added, each shower will get worse until I'm covered in a rash. The rashes always go away in about 30 min, but that is still 30 min of my skin itching and burning. Not fun. With not having our water system, showers have been brutal. I start feeling the itching and stinging while still in the shower. I have learned how to take showers in record speed! That still doesn't help my poor head though. I get little sores on my head that go away within about a week, and it does make me glad I'm not not bald or someone might think I have leprosy or something.

So please hurry Mr. Kinetico man. I long to take a real shower. I long to have clean clothes and an empty bathtub again, and I long to use real dishes again.
