Do you have a hobby you enjoy? Something you really can sink your teeth into and lose yourself in? It may be something like horseback riding, which is what my girls enjoy. Or it may be a sport, like Austin enjoys. Or it might be getting together and playing cards with friends, which Jay enjoys. Me? I'm more simple. I like reading. Whether it's a blog, an email, a message board, or a good book, it can capture my attention and I forget all my cares or worries for a short time.
The fun part about reading is that it can transport me to places all over the world. If I read a blog about someone attending a conference, and they tell details about it, I can almost imagine myself there. If someone posts a message or pictures about a trip they took, I can imagine what it was like to be there. When I read a story about another place or time, I can go there in my mind. In all these places, my worries and stress don't follow me. And then when I read the best book of all, I read stories of amazing tales of how much my Lord loves me and cares for me. And he says I don't have to carry those burdens. He can and will do it for me. Talk about the ultimate in relaxation.

Well, I just got into my horse...so that's a NEW hobby for me... but I LOVE LOVE LOVE to exercise...in any way.. run, bike, mountain climb (well, maybe not that one) hahaha.. I'm pretty much game for anything in my old age.. :)
I'm with you on the reading. Love it. Always have. Playing piano is another one. With my newly emptied nest, I can play anytime I want (i.e. early in the morning). I love that!
