My Heart Is Racing

I took a gander at my blog to see if there was anything I wanted to change or re-do and, and I broke out in a cold sweat. Why? Down there, on the right. Below the Merry Christmas Candy Cane and above the "I'm so blogging that" button. See it? The pretty Christmas tree. Why does that pretty little picture send me running for more deoderant?

Because it says I only have 16 days left, I am nowhere near even thinking that I am close to being ready for Christmas, that's why!
Christmas gift shopping has been started, but not even close to being completed.

I have our host students gift STILL sitting there waiting to be put in the mail (and I have resigned myself to the fact that there is no way it will ever stand a chance to be there by Christmas). I wonder if she'd believe me if I said it was an American tradition to give gifts late.

Christmas cards? Purchased. That's it. They are not addressed. Christmas card letter to accompany them is not written. Christmas labels are not printed. Christmas stamps have not been purchased.

Christmas baking ~ You've read about me and cooking. Enough said.

Christmas wrapping hasn't even started. This is the one part of Christmas that I dread. I take forever wrapping, because I try hard to make the gifts look nice. However, it takes approximately 3.2 seconds to undo the work I've done. This is also why I don't make pies. Well that and the fact that a recipe and an oven are necessary.

Christmas decorating is isn't even completed. We still haven't hung the stockings and each year I normally put beautiful bows on the handles of the kitchen cupboards. Might not happen this year.

I feel like such a slacker.
Or a procrastinator.

Whichever works.

How are you coming? Are you ready? Or are you still running around like me, and vowing that next year you WILL start making your checklist before Halloween so that you will get everything accomplished in a timely manner.
*snicker* as if I'd really do that.

We are (mostly) decorated, and I still have about eight gifts to buy (We have a huge family. Eight is really quite a manageable number to have left around here.) However, my sister-in-law got the wonderful idea to take us all to Disney World the week before Christmas, and while that is all generous and everything, it means that MY TIME, IT IS SEVERELY LIMITED. Nothing is wrapped. I'm glad that I have a sixteen-year-old. :o)

You have more done than I do! I'm not even trying to do half as much though. Hope you get some time to enjoy the holiday!
