Straight No Chaser

My son has a new music director at their school this year and he is great! He is so involved and doing wonderful things with the music program. Much more than has been done in previous years with previous directors. He is also introducing the kids to different kinds of music and different groups.

Yesterday Austin comes home all excited and says "Mom, you HAVE to see this A Capella group on YouTube. Mr. "S" told us about them, and showed us a couple of videos, and they are awesome.

Their name is "Straight No Chaser" and they originated at Indiana University in 1996. According to what I have found out, they recently reunited and have released a new Christmas Album.

Here's the link to the YouTube video Austin was talking about. They sing the 12 Days of Christmas and it is so fun! And I have to agree...they are awesome!

After we watched that video, we did a couple of searches on them and some other songs they sing. They are quickly becoming a favorite group for me.

I love when our kids play music! Today our youngest son took his violin (on his own) to play for a 94 yr. old friend of the family. She has Hospice coming now. Music is such a blessing to so many!
