Firefox

Maybe I'm behind the times, but I had never heard of Firefox until a couple of days ago. Have you heard of it?

It's a browser like Internet Explorer, only it is supposed to be better, faster, and safer than IE or other browsers. Several friends and people I know have been raving about it, so
I decided to try it and I downloaded it yesterday. It's not a lot different and I do like that any pages you had bookmarked can be transferred over automatically if you select that option when installing it.

I also like that when I had to reload a page to get Firefox working properly, any tabs I had open, were automatically re-opened.

Another nice feature is that if you have a pop-up blocker turned on, Firefox can distinguish between you opening a link versus a pop-up trying to open. No more having to hold down Ctrl + Alt to get it to open.

There are also a bunch of add-ons you can have positioned in your toolbar to personalize it for you, but I really haven't looked at those too much yet.

The only "negatives" I have found so far are that the font & size that shows up here on Blogger is different and I don't like it, so I have to keep going in to change that (there's probably a way to have it set permanently, but I haven't found it yet, so I'll keep looking).

Also, when I click to preview, it doesn't show the post divided into paragraphs the way I have it set up. It just shows it as one big paragraph. Not sure what that's all about, and again, it might be something I can change but haven't figured out yet.

I'm sure it's all just something I need to get used to. I've been told that once you do get used to it, you will never want to go back and you'll wonder how you lived without it.

If you want to have a look around and perhaps try Firefox for yourself, here's the link:

I switched to it several weeks ago. IE kept crashing when I'd try to visit other blogs. I'm sure it's just some glitches in Blogger that you'll have to figure out. I haven't had any of those problems. Thank goodness, because I'm a computer dumbo.

We don't seem to have any problem and don't crash like we did so much on IE. Good luck! W.L.U.

I have both browers installed. FF is more secure, but doesn't support some of the notary stuff I use, so....my son likes Google Chrome ALOT...but it's in beta. Nice features, but not sure how secure it is....
