Project 365 ~ Week 12

Spring was finally starting to make it's appearance, but Winter had to prove it was still around, as we got a fresh layer of new snow on Saturday. Thankfully it's nothing that will last long and hopefully it will finally be the last snow of the year!

Sunday - 3/14

Ashley & Chelsea were here for Spring Break and they surprised everyone when they went to church with us. Jay's parents came over to see them afterwards and to our amusement, the dogs seemed very interested in Johnnie (Jay's dad), since they normally want nothing to do with him. Tucker then headed over to play with Chelsea. :)

As I said, it appeared Spring was finally here, so the two young girls who ride our horses in horse shows and 4-H came over to work with them and they had Chelsea help while she was home.

Monday - 3/15

Now that the horses can be out more, it was time for a good hoof trimming. I love having a farrier that comes right to our farm, rather than us having to haul all of them to him.

Tuesday - 3/16

Bless my mans heart!! Even though it's been nice out, we still have had to let the dogs out on leashes, because there is one spot that still has a rock hard drift up high enough for the dogs to get out of the fence. It was about chest high on Jay. He went out and spent 3 hours chipping away at chunks of snow and then using our small snowblower to blow it over the fence to create a trench, wide enough so the dogs could run around, but not jump out. What a guy!!

And boy did the dogs appreciate the effort! They ran and jumped and barked. They loved it!

However, the downside to getting to go out and run around is having to come in and sit in "doggie jail" while mom gets the towel to dry off your feet.

Wednesday - 3/17

Our new sheets came...yeah! I ordered 12oo count, Egyptian cotton sheets because I had heard they are extra soft, and on my bad flare days the sheets we currently have irritate my skin, which at that time will be on hyper-sensitive mode. After just one night sleeping on them, I told Jay that when I die, I want to be buried in these sheets. They are wonderful!! And, as you can see, the dogs like the new comforter too. :)

Thursday - 3/18

A friend of mine invited me to lunch. She just happens to be the mother of Austin's girlfriend "K". K came along too, and we had a super yummy lunch. We all decided to splurge and I had a piece of plain cheesecake and it was so worth it. Although, they each had a piece of red velvet cake/cheesecake and I was a little jealous.

Friday 3/19

This picture was a traumatizing one for me. The road to my hotel was closed due to flooding (from all the melting snow). It took me to parts of the city that a short, white, middle-aged farm wife should not be in. Seriously, if there is a "worst" part of the city, I drove through it. I actually saw people running up to car windows as they slowed down, and I'm pretty darn sure they weren't trading banana bread recipes. I was getting a little more scared and I really wanted to pray, but honestly, at that point, I couldn't think of anything to say but "HELP!", so I just kept repeating "If He brings you to it, He will bring you through it. If He brings you to it, He will bring you through it." I was so relieved when I finally saw I had made it around the detour!

Saturday - 3/20

Today was a "thinking" kind of day, and I'll be blogging more about that in the next couple of days. I did some thinking, reflecting, analyzing, self-talk, self-motivation, and of course, a LOT of praying. I also did some journaling about what I feel I learned about everything. The cross bracelet you see next to the journal was given to me by a friend and has become a special piece of jewelry to me.
