Project 365 ~ Week 17

We had a busy and exciting week full of activity and emotions.

Sunday - 4/18

Prom was last night, and it's a tradition in our entire school community that kids attend church the next morning wearing their formal attire. Austin's girlfriend came to our church with him. While they both look really tired after being up all night, they still look great! You can see more prom pictures here.

Later in the afternoon, Ashley and her boyfriend Lance came over to give us an announcement....Lance asked for our blessing as he asked Ashley to marry him!!

Monday - 4/19

A good friend had a meeting and so I invited her children (ok...actually I begged) to come over to stay with me. Her girls and I did some crafts....

and then all 3 kids play and played and played with the dogs. The dogs LOVED having children to play with! lol

Tuesday - 4/20

Today we were at 1 of 4 golf meets that were held this week. Here our team, as well as the visiting teams warm up on the putting green. Austin is in the red shirt and white hat just to the right of the tree.

Wednesday - 4/21

Our living room tv took it's last breath and it was time to buy a new one.

Thursday - 4/22

The guys removed the old dead tv today and got our new one hoooked up - yeah!

Friday - 4/23

Today we had Lance's family over for a meet & greet. They are a great family and we loved getting to know them.

Saturday - 4/24

Today was the most exciting and emotional day of the entire week. Today, our little girl Ashley became a bride. You can read more about why they got married so quickly after just getting engaged here. It was Lance & Ashley's wishes that they have a very small, informal wedding ceremony at a park. They will do a public renewal of vows at a later date when Lance is back home again, and at that time they plan to have the big dress, tuxes and flowers.

They both looked so beautiful today, and the weather was great. The rain that was predicted held off and they were able to get married on the small wooden dock they had hoped for.

While it is still hard to grasp the idea of Ashley being married, we think the world of Lance and are so happy to welcome him into our family. We pray they are blessed with many wonderful and happy years together.

Enjoy your new tv. Isn't it funny the size difference between the new and the old?
Have a super week and enjoy being a MIL now!!

Oh my! What a week you have had! But his logic did make sense and if they've known each other that long... They've probably thought it all through. I pray they will be blessed!

Well both couples look really cute! Your new son-in-law is VERY handsome & they look great together.

I think that's a great tradition to wear your prom finery to church the next day. I suppose that keeps the girls dresses a little more low-key, right?

Thank you all for you sweet comments.

Yes, I can proudly say that in the 20+yrs I've been a member of this church, I have never seen a girl wearing what I'd call an inappropriate dress, whether to prom, or to church.

That's a really neat prom tradition...

You went from a new TV to a new son-in-law in the span of just a few days. That's crazy!!!!!
