The Wiz

Some of you probably don't remember the 1970's remake of the Wizard of Oz. It was on broadway and was called "The Wiz". It was an all black cast and they used 70's ling and the 70's style of music. One of the most famous songs to come out of that musical was "Ease On Down The Road".

For 3 nights, my girls along with numerous other school mates have been transported back to the 1970's as they put on their school production of The Wiz.

Chelsea was "Adaperle". She is the ditzy blonde sister of Glinda. Chelsea has some funny lines in there and some of them just fits so well with her personality. She also sings a solo called "He's The Wiz". She did awesome!!! Here's a couple of pictures of her when singing her solo:

Ashley felt she was too busy to tryout for a larger part, but wanted to be involved in the play. She was one of the citizens of Oz and also one of the servants of the Wicked Witch. She did such an awesome job. She was one of the very few that never had to look around to see what they should be doing next. She knew what to do. Here are pictures of her in her 2 outfits:

We of course are very proud of both of our girls! Sadly, this will be the last musical they will do during their high school careers. :(
