...and they're gonna get ma-aa-aa-rried. Go-in' To The Cha-pel Of Love.
Tomorrow I'll be gone to my brothers wedding. Here's picture of him and his bride to be. They met, fell in love, weren't sure (personally I think it was cold feet...both had been in relationships that ended badly and left their hearts in pieces), broke up and then got back together again. And tomorrow they will begin to live happily ever after.
Well, ok not totally happily ever after. Happily until he leaves the toilet seat up and she falls in during the middle of the night. Happily until she tosses out his favorite "Ask me about my stud fee" t-shirt. Happily until he decides to help with the laundry and now everything they own is gray or pink. Happily until she buys broccoli and soy milk instead of pretzels and soda. Yep, almost happily ever after.
Jay and I have been married 21 years, and while I do not consider ourselves experts by any means, I do believe that our key to being successful this long has been communication and mutual respect. We talk about everything...even when he might prefer not to. And we have never, ever said or done anything disrespectul of the other (at least, not intentionally). We were and still are best friends and I can see that my brother and future sister-in-law have that great friendship, communication & respect thing going strong. I believe they are going to be a happy couple for a very long time.
So here's to you my little brother. I love you and couldn't be happier for you. It's been a long time coming, but I know you agree with me when I say, she has been worth the wait.
And to you Melissa....welcome to the family. We're so excited to have another sister.
Love ya both!
