I'll Spare You The Details

I am having a nasty reaction to a medication that was prescribed to me. I reacted to it last week when I took it, and we thought at that time it something else. However, last night was the first time I've taken that medicine since I had been "sick" a week ago, and the exact same symptoms are back. Upon Jay looking on the internet for me, we learned that I am indeed experiencing side effects/adverse reactions of the medicine.

As I stated in the title - I'll spare you the details of the reaction....they are yucky. Suffice it to say that it is very much like having a horrible case of the flu. My head is pounding, I am very queasy and sick to my stomach, my heart is palpating, I'm lightheaded and dizzy - oh soooooo dizzy! We have actually moved furniture around to help me hold onto when walking. We talked to the doctor and in their ultimate concern (please note the sarcasm) they stated "ok, we'll note it on her chart". Oh, and since talking to them, I am now itching as well. Swell.......

So, I'm not blogging until I can see only one keyboard instead of double. The only reason I'm even sharing any of this, is because I know family members will learn of me being sick, and since I was with several of them this past weekend, I want to assure them that while what I have resembles the flu, it is most definitely a medication reaction --- and not the flu.

I'm so sorry, Dena. I can relate. I hope you get to feel better soon...and that your doctor's office recovers quickly from it's obvious case of Indifference. :-)

I hope you stopped taking it! I can't take Niacin it causes itching. And several meds I've taken have caused a cough, rapid heart beat, water retention bad, and bad headaches. Get pushy with your doctor... no one else will for you. Learned from experience. Praying for you! Joyce from the Pacific Northwest!
