These Are The Oldies?

Last week at our high school football game, we enjoyed watching Austin playing his trumpet.

What I struggled with was hearing them play a tribute to the "oldies" that included songs like "Funky Town" and "China Grove". The Doobie Brothers...marching band music?

Then, 2 days ago I went to the grocery store, and as usual, they had the elevator music going and it included "Super Freak" and "Brick House".

Super Freak was one of those songs that I knew I'd get in trouble for listening to if I ever got caught, so I always made sure to switch the channel when it came on.

These were rock groups...with suggestive lyrics that I'm sure made parents cringe! Now they are played over grocery store speaker systems and marching band music?

Can I really be getting that old?

I know what you mean. Back in the 70's there was certain music that I wouldn't listen to because it was all linked to sex and drugs. Now when it is played, it sounds like the new country. LOL!

I can't believe how fast things that were conciterd immoral are so excepted, my girls middle school is singing a tribute to the old sit comidys and I wish I could edit out some of them. I dont think my opinion will go over very well.
