Project 365 ~ Week 18

This week has definitely been a little less crazy than last week. Ashley & Lance are still on their honeymoon and having a great time. We are enjoying beautiful Springtime weather, which we don't usually get too much of in Iowa. It seems we go from Winter to Summer withing a two week period, so this has been so nice!

Sunday - 4/25

Speaking of nice weather, we pulled our grill out of the garage and put it in our little alcove by the back door. We also pulled out the iron chairs & table that we sit in while grilling. The cushions I had for them were pretty rough looking, so today I bought new cushions. It looks much better.

Monday - 4/26

Austin had a golf meet today. He has 2-3 meets a week, and we allow him to have Subway once a week. This kid would literally eat at Subway daily if we let him. The other 1-2 meets he has to suffer through life by having homemade sandwiches. LOL

Tuesday - 4/27

Bill paying day. *sigh* All mail that comes in goes into the brown trunk that's sitting on the table and I sort through it once a week. However, with the wedding last week, this chore was pushed aside. Therefore, I had 2 weeks worth of mail, bills, and junk mail to sort through before I could start paying the bills. yuck!

Wednesday - 4/28

This is a horrible picture because I took it quick, with my phone, and on the sly (sort of). Our niece and nephew are getting confirmed this coming weekend and tonight there was a program at the church in their honor. When the kids start into the confirmation program they each select an adult that they would like to have as their Christian mentor. Our niece Jenna asked me to be her mentor. Mentors were invited to the program along with family members, so I took this picture of Jenna receiving a gift from our youth director.

Thursday - 4/29

Second golf meet of the week and Jay decided he wanted to play photographer for a day.

I took this one with my phone. That is Austin's group ready to tee off, and Austin is the one off by himself. He was up first, and hit a great shot!

Friday - 4/30

Today I had a specialist appointment in Des Moines. After we were done there we headed over to the scooter store and bought me a new red racing machine. Actually getting this means I'll have a much easier time getting around at both the county & state fairs, plus I can now go shopping at the mall again. I'm so excited about that! Now I just want to come up with a cute nickname for it. lol

Later in the afternoon, Chelsea came home from college for a weekend visit. She wasn't home 30 minutes and the dogs started going crazy. Pigs are out! Thank goodness you can't take the farm outta the girl (especially one who loves it like Chelsea does). I called Jay and his dad while Chelsea ran out to start working on getting them rounded up. The one laying down isn't hurt...we had rain earlier in the day, so he's having a great time rolling around in the mud. lol Finally the three of them got all of the pigs back in the barn and they fixed the fence where they got out.

Saturday - 5/1

I have been frustrated lately because Jay keeps wearing nice sweatshirts into the barn and when out farming. Then I have to work extra hard when washing them to try to get the "stink" out of them so he can wear them other places like school events.

All of our sweatshirts and hoodies are kept in an armoire in our bedroom. His work t-shirts are also in there. His excuse for not wearing his farming shirts more is that he just grabs something and goes because he isn't sure what is located where. Today I helped him out...

The top shelf is my sweatshirts so I put a post-it-note there that says "Dena's shirts".

The next shelf is his every day shirts, and the bottom shelf is for his work shirts. So for those two shelves I put the middle one as "Sexy Jay" and the bottom one as "Stinky Jay".

He got a good chuckle out of it, but I'm just hoping it works! lol

So how was your week? Head on over to Sara's through the link in the sidebar to see more pictures!

Subway everyday? Who's he trying to be? Jared? ;)

I like your wooden trunk idea. May need to try something like that.

Oh, my word. I wouldn't even know where to BEGIN trying to get pigs back in their pen. Yikes!

You are a funny momma with your post-its in the armoire! Love it!!

Love the post it note idea... except I need to use it for color matching. Thinking you should put some racing stripes on your new scooter... maybe yellow? If I can think of a creative idea I will let you know. Have a great week!

The scooter is SNAZZY - I think it looks like a ruby slipper...

Love those cushions. I might want to do something different with our outside chairs - maybe get something a little fancier & more comfortable since we're not buying a bunch of new stuff at once like last summer when we moved into the house.

LOVE the labels! I think that should work pretty well.
